Joe’s Path

If you look at the path that Joe’s life has taken so far, it is easy to see that his journey has been a diverse one made up of countless stepping-stones. Originally from Temple City, California, Joe finds his inspiration from the people and stories around him.

In particular, Joe has dedicated his life to helping individuals with developmental disabilities for over 30 years. His dedication led him to co-found CHOICESS, one of the first organizations in California devoted to supporting individuals with disabilities so that they can live a meaningful life. He strives to be the personable mediator in a system that is often harsh and blunt.

In Joe’s eyes, each and every individual should live free, autonomous,  independent to make his or her own choices. To provide just enough support to someone so that they are empowered. Thus, CIRCL was created—an innovative and heartfelt group of passionate people that created resources, tools and a learning community to capture and share best practices.

Person Centered Practices (PCP) is a multi-faceted approach that connects and works with individuals, families and/or organizations, which builds a culture of trust and partnership.

Joe helps transforms lives into ones filled with achievement of goals and independence in lifestyle. Joe is also a certified Person Centered Training trainer and a mentor.

In a way, Joe has carefully and thoughtfully placed out each and every stepping stone in his life. Helping others through authentic problem solving is a passion that Joe holds near and dear to his heart. This is why he founded We Gather 2 listen—a business that creates strong connections between people through genuine listening, productive gathering, and seamless thinking. His resolve to continuously walk forward has placed him in a special place with the people that he works with. These individuals are definitely not just clients or colleagues. They are his friends, family, and the meaning to his life.
